Invest in Chicago Commons' Mission

We provide life-changing services to individuals in under-resourced communities.

Invest in generational success.

Dear Supporter,

As we celebrate 130 years of service, Chicago Commons continues to honor its mission of empowering individuals, families, and communities through education, support, and opportunity. Since our founding, we have fostered social equity and economic mobility, providing essential services that equip children, families, and seniors to thrive. Our commitment to this mission is as strong today as it was when we first opened our doors in 1894.

This milestone year serves as a powerful reminder of the incredible impact of your generosity. With your support, Chicago Commons has expanded its reach, from early childhood education to family support and senior services, touching the lives of more than 3,500 individuals annually. Together, we are creating a brighter future for Chicago’s most under-resourced communities, laying the groundwork for sustainable, long-term success and enabling our participants to thrive across generations. How do we know?

Meet Mary Lou and Billy

Growing up in West Town, Mary Lou and her brother Billy attended Chicago Commons' programs in the 1940s and '50s. Staff was extended family and "The Commons" was their away from home. Now in their 80s, they remain involved with Chicago Commons to this day.

Meet Lorraine

Meet Lorraine. Her children graduated from Guadalupano Family Center in Pilsen where Lorrainewas a valued member of the Parent Policy Council and was a Parent Ambassador. Lorraine and her 15-year-old daughter are now co-owners of Quetzal Trinkets & Gems and Lorraine was also inspired to work in the early childhood field.

Meet Janice

Recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's, Janice attends our adult day services program in Bronzeville. Her family needed a safe place for her to stay while they were at work where both her mind and body would be engaged in activities meant to promote physical and mental wellbeing. Janice and Activity Aid Leticia have become fast friends.

As we embark on our next chapter, we invite you to join us in celebrating 130 years of transformative work by investing in the future. Your contribution to this fall fundraising campaign will ensure that Chicago Commons continues to provide life-changing programs for the next century and beyond. Together, we can create a stronger, more equitable Chicago.

Sincerely,

Edgar Ramirez
