Juneteenth Celebration at Chicago Commons

We celebrated a special Juneteenth at Chicago Commons. Organized by the Human Resources team in collaboration with Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) and Field Foundation of Illinois.

This year, we delved into the theme of Community Wellness through various interactive art stations, vibrant music, and onsite health resources. Attendees also found valuable information on how to access resources available here at Chicago Commons. A highlight of the celebration was the debut of “Through Our Eyes,” a unique photography collaboration between the Fourtunehouse Art Center in Bronzeville and our ADS participants.

This spring, local artists conducted workshops with our ADS participants to explore different mediums of expression. We were excited to showcase their work during this celebration.
