When we say that Chicago Commons works to empower individuals across generations, we mean it. The Family Hub program provides wraparound support services to program participants and families of enrolled clients. These services are designed to aid individuals and families when they need additional resources outside of what our day-to-day programs offer. This holistic, multigenerational approach improves economic mobility and well-being.
This past month, we were able to provide support for Willie, one of our adults in the Adult Day Services (ADS) program. When Willie was discovered outside, struggling and without a home, ADS Activity Manager, Walter Stegall, spared no effort collaborating with the Family Hub to support him in getting the resources he needed.
Together, the Chicago Commons’ team rallied together to re-enroll Willie in the ADS program, as well as to secure long-term housing, food, clothes, shoes, and a new pair of glasses. We are grateful for our supporters, including the United Way and No Kid Hungry, for the collective effort to empower one of our clients. We are so glad to have Willie back in the ADS community.
