At Chicago Commons, we know that small acts of kindness can make a big impact. That’s why we were thrilled to welcome members of the Chicago Police Department to Guadalupano Family Center on February 12, for a special morning of creativity and connection.
Together with our children, officers helped design friendship cards filled with bright colors, heartfelt messages, and cheerful drawings for the seniors at our Adult Day Service center. The room was filled with laughter, conversation, and a shared sense of purpose as children and officers worked side-by-side to spread warmth to older adults in our community.
These beautiful cards serve as a reminder to our seniors that they are loved and valued. This event also strengthened relationships—between generations, neighbors, and community partners.
A heartfelt thank you to the Chicago Police Department for taking the time to join us, and to our incredible children for putting so much care into their creations. We look forward to continuing to build bridges that bring people together!
